Lucia Sarcinella received a degree in computer science from the Department of Computer Science, University of Bari Aldo Moro in 1997. Her area of research is pattern recognition and ICT applications for distance learning, Web-based training, collaborative work and software engineering. She is currently publishing on various pattern recognition journals and conferences about handwriting dynamics, machine learning, traffic flow prediction. Lucia is also reviewer for IEEE Access, Elsevier Pattern Recognition Journal, MDPI Sensor, MDPI Information and many more.

She was a researcher at the Consorzio Interuniversitario Nazionale per l’Informatica (CINI). She is currently a research assistant in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Bari Aldo Moro about violence video detection.
